New Employee Health Screening
Role-specific screening that checks declared health conditions against job hazards and demands — with practical advice on adjustments where needed.
What it is
New employee health screening reviews a candidate’s declared health information in the context of the hazards, risks, activities and environment of the job they’re being recruited into. The focus is safe placement and practical support — not excluding people unnecessarily.
The Equality Act 2010 affects when health questions can be asked before a job offer. Offers can be made subject to a satisfactory medical assessment.

- Where needed, we support follow-up or referral for complex cases.
FAQs
When should we carry out health screening?
Commonly after a conditional offer, or at the stage permitted for your process. The aim is to ensure the role is safe for the individual and to identify adjustments early, without delaying onboarding unnecessarily.
Will screening delay a start date?
Usually not. Most cases can be reviewed quickly. If we need further information, we’ll tell you exactly what’s needed and why, and we’ll prioritise time-sensitive starts where possible.
What outcomes do we receive?
You’ll receive an outcome focused on fitness for the role and practical steps: fit, fit with adjustments, or further information required. We avoid unnecessary clinical detail unless the individual consents.
How do you support reasonable adjustments?
We provide practical suggestions aligned to the job demands (for example phased duties, equipment, changes to tasks, hours, or environment). The goal is safe, sustainable work.
Want consistent, role-specific screening?
Share the job description and hazards, and we’ll recommend the right screening approach.
