Health surveillance is a planned programme of checks for employees exposed to workplace hazards such as noise, vibration, solvents, fumes, dusts and other hazardous substances. It helps spot early signs of harm and supports timely action.

How it works
- We review your hazards, roles and existing risk assessments to confirm what’s required.
- We agree the programme, frequency, and delivery method (onsite or local clinic).
- Employees complete the checks, with clear explanation and consent.
- We provide outcomes and recommendations (with confidentiality protected).
- We review trends and adjust the plan if roles, processes or risks change.
FAQs
When is health surveillance needed?
Typically when risk assessments show employees are exposed to hazards that could cause harm despite controls, or where regulations/guidance indicate surveillance is appropriate (for example certain noise, vibration or hazardous substance exposures). We’ll help you confirm what applies to your roles.
Can you deliver it onsite?
Yes. Onsite delivery works well for larger teams or multiple role groups. For smaller teams, a local clinic option can be more efficient. We’ll recommend the most practical approach.
What happens if something is identified?
We explain the outcome to the employee and provide you with clear, job-relevant recommendations (for example controls review, temporary adjustments, or further clinical follow-up). We only share medical details with explicit consent.
How do you handle confidentiality?
Employee medical information is confidential. Reports to managers focus on functional impact and workplace recommendations, not private clinical details, unless the employee consents.
